Sri Lanka With Steve McCurry

No, he’s not a cook or a foodie.

McCurry, who captured the face of the Afghan Girl, visited Sri Lanka in 1995. The photo became the most recognized photographs in the history of the National Geographic magazine, and is a perfect example of the human element that McCurry never fails to capture.
Class, race, culture, poverty, war, peace, love are just some of the narratives he brings together in these emotion triggering images. It stirred something inside of me and it will do strange things to you.

Taken in 1995, his photos now really do justice to his name – a combination of the modern McDonaldization and the traditional curry.
