Help Bring a Lankan Back Home

Sometimes you have a dream, and sometimes you don’t always pull through with that dream. If this seems familiar, then read on.

Sudath left his wife and two children in Sri Lanka and travelled to Qatar in the hopes of finding a job to support his household and to cover his daily expenses.

The first three months in Qatar were spent on a visit visa and they flew by with no luck in finding a steady job. Through a friend, he managed to buy more time by extending his visit visa for another three months, during which he tried harder to secure a job. Unfortunately, his attempts failed up to a point where he gave up and now wants to come back to his family in his home country, Sri Lanka.

However, Sudath has no money in the bank, and his visit visa is expired. Every day that passes is a penalty his passport is gathering. He has no means of paying for a return ticket or even to support himself in Qatar with daily expenses.

Muhammed Nasir, his kind neighbour who witnessed this misfortune, decided to help Sudath as much as he could. Nasir started a crowdfunding project, called ‘Help a Lankan Back Home’ on Indiegogo to help Sudath by raising funds for his daily expenses and his return back to Sri Lanka.

Help a fellow Sri Lankan by contributing as much as you can. Any contribution, big or small, will help Sudath in a tremendous way and bring him a step closer to being reunited with his family. Another way you can help is by sharing this post to spread the word so your friends and family can get involved too.

You can contact Muhammed Nasir on Twitter for more details on the initiative.
